After a couple of days with no Josh, I was SO excited to have our weekend together. Doing whatever we want and sleeping in as late as we want is the best thing ever!
When Josh got home on Friday night, to his surprise I had a meal waiting on the table. I had come across this delicious watermelon and feta cheese salad that I wanted to try, so I did. And it was great! Basically it had watermelon, feta, green bell pepper and cucumber, mixed with some olive oil and topped with yogurt. YUMMY!
Saturday we hung out and lounged around the house all day. Then we met up with some of Josh's fellow interns for dinner at the famous La Fogata and saw Public Enemy ( I think thats what its called). Good food, fun people, and a pretty good movie.
Sunday I probably made my biggest discoveries of the weekend. We went to church and then met some friends for brunch at a place called, "The Egg and I." I loved it! One of my favorite things about Wheaton was the endless breakfast restaurants to eat at. So this was exciting for me. The next thing we did was venture up to San Marcos for the Outlet Mall. Josh needed some cologne and we thought we might as well go check it out....Whoa!!! It was huge! And I know I've been there before so either A) they built more shops, like LOTS more, or B) I just didn't appreciate shopping the way I do now. I'm not really sure, but I think it might take two, maybe three days to make it through all the stores. So that was a big discovery for me. We didn't get anything but the cologne, but when Tax-free weekend comes (I hope they still do that in Texas) we are gonna make a trip up there. Hopefully I will need teacher clothes by then!
So my advice to those of you who might find yourself coming to San Antonio is first call me so we can meet up for dinner...or breakfast! and second, plan an extra day to stop at the outlet mall in San Marcos!!!
