Day 1

Hello fellow bloggers. Thanks for not giving up on me!

Today I said I was going to begin my 21 day detox. Well....that is sort of true. After looking at some bookstores this weekend for my book, I couldn't find it anywhere. I'm not sure why? Maybe it just isn't all that good? So I decided to try something else. It is called the "Raw Food Detox Diet." It is the 5-step plan for vibrant health! And I liked it alot after sitting in Barnes and Noble for a while, reading it. Don't you love Barnes and Noble??

Another speed bump to beginning this great detox diet: I drove in from Dallas really late last night and didn't have time to go to the grocery store. SOOO...the plan is to officially start Thursday (after I've had time to shop and make some of the goods). Although I did eat mostly raw foods today and plan to do the same tomorrow.

Now, back to the book. I learned some good stuff this weekend from it. The premise is not only eating healthy foods in their natural state, but also mixing the proper foods according to transit, or exit time.....the time it takes to digest the food.

Interesting concept that I've never thought of. But if you think about it, foods like fruits only take about 30 minutes to leave the stomache whereas other foods take up to 8 hours to digest. If we stuff out bodies at a minimum of three times a day with an 8 hour digestion rate for each, we are going to have a major backup. Also, fruits are very acidic. If you eat something that takes 8 hours to digest with fruit, the fruit will get stuck in the digestive track alot longer than neccessary and in the end cause fermentation in your stomache...a perfect enviornment for diseases!

Now that is just a small bit about this diet, Each day I will give you more and let you in on what all I'm eating and how I'm feeling! My tip of the day...via the book...Eat fruit alone or leave it alone!!!

Until Thursday,

Linds

I have a random comment, shocked I know! But this really does make sense to me. I was on a kick where I ate an apple every single morning on my way to work and then if I got hungry a mid-morning snack. I've never felt better and my digestion was on target. Not sure why I stopped that, maybe b/c I need some variety? Anywho, I've always struggled with this stuff and I'm going to be logging in to see how you like it! Raw foods are very intriguing to me, not sure I could ever do it completely, but I love the idea of a detox! Good Luck!!! You can do it!
