Man this is harder than it sounds

Hey there! Well starting this thing is harder than I thought! I realize now if Josh doesn't do this with me, it will not happen. You have to have the support.

I went to Whole foods Wednesday night to get all the stuff I needed to start this detox. Then, Thursday I had to grab a quick dinner with Josh before I went to a meeting. That meal I ate with Josh was well, uh, pizza...from Costco. Probably not on the raw food detox diet. From then I haven't been able to really get back on the horse. But, that meeting I went to was to sign up to run a marathon with "Team in Training." Running a marathon or atleast a half marathon has always been on my "to-do" list. But even more a reason to run is that the funds I raise are going towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I'm really excited!!

So...here's the new game plan: Still going to try and detox with this raw food philosophy. I need to be healthy more than ever now. I'm hoping though to talk Josh into doing it with me.

Here is one of the fundamentals for this new lifestyle, a special drink, "Green Lemonade." It is stocked full of nutrients that aid in digestion and fill you up with vitamins.

1 head of romaine lettuce or celery
5-6 stalks of kale
1-2 apples
1 whole organic lemon (rind and all)
1-2 tbs fresh ginger

You are supposed to put it into a juicer one vegetable at a time. Pour into a glass and drink!

If any of you try it, let me know what you think. I plan on making it tomorrow!

On a side note if you'd like to donate to a great cause that will aid in finding a cure for blood cancers please click on the link below:

I really appreciate any and all support. It is near and dear to my heart and the hearts of thousands that are affected by blood cancers.

Now, here's to getting healthy!

Um. Green Lemonade sounds interesting...probably not too bad once you get used to it.

I swear, I need a juicer! I think I'd be juicing everything in sight, poor John, haha! He had NO clue when we married the crazy things I'd make him eat or try with me. ;)
